Townsville Senior Citizens' Hall

Location:  Based at 16 Ryan Street, Belgian Gardens 4810, the Association's wheelchair-accessible buildings overlook Rowes Bay.  At the moment, the Association's activities and administration are carried out in the Hall and office.  Good parking is available for members in close proximity to the hall.

The Townsville Seniors Citizens Welfare Association is a community-based organization.  It is incorporated and is administered by a management committee elected at the AGM from the general membership of the Association.  The involvement of all members in the Centre's program of activities is welcomed.

The Senior Citizens' Hall is used for activities of the Association and is available for hire to Members.  The Hall is also used frequently for gatherings of the whole membership such as the very successful "Christmas in July" function held each year.

Fees:  Currently, fees stand at $10 per person per year with activity fees being $4 per activity per attendance.  This also covers the cost of morning tea.


Other services and businesses located in the buildings on the .75 hectare site include:

  • The Community Rehabilitation N.Q. Service auspiced by Townsville-Mackay Medicare Local
  • A Hair Dressing Salon
  • A Psychology Service
  • A Sports and Remedial Massage Service.
These can be easily accessed by the Townsville Citizens' Welfare Association's membership.

  1. Wonderful to see the photos and be reminded of the delicious meal and happy friendly crowd at the Christmas in July lunch. I enjoyed it very much on my holiday in Townsville, back then
